Older BT kit let you name 2.4 and 5ghz networks differently, but seen a customers lately where that wasn’t an option so could just turn off 2.4 or 5ghz individually. In their case had to turn off 5ghz to get stuff to work reliably and fix channel

@jonbradbury @highwayl*** @Plusnet @plusnethelp Seems reasonable, I get poor Wifi, mostly, because my neighbour has repeaters (mesh system) to fix his poor Wifi.
It's improved since his equipment chose channel 6 and mine chose channel 11.
My Plusnet router only has one name/SSID, different from the names I call it...

@ChimericalCal @Plusnet I've only had them a few weeks. We had one very brief outage. Beyond that, no no Wi-Fi connectivity problems, very high speeds, fair price.

My @Plusnet Internet always stops working just after their support team have gone home (after 8pm), right when I’m ready to sit down to watch a movie 😡
It’s atrocious. You can’t claim my Internet is fibre optic if a 10-minute video buffers.

Hi @plusnethelp, @plusnet I finally managed to get through on the phone after 30+ minutes, only for you to drop the call unprompted on 39 minutes. Unbelievable. 1 more week to resolve before ADR.

@plusnethelp just been told it will take days for me to receive a call back about my downed internet, 72 working hours. 45 mins to get through, the c.s agent can't solve it but says it's not an issue my end. Days. If I've not heard by next Wednesday I have to call you back. Poor

@Plusnet seem to want to lose customers. Service increasingly patchy, and all options other than phone for reporting issues (Twitter, online chat, web ticketing) closed down. 45 minutes to answer calls to the support desk. Rueing the day I switched.

@MartinSLewis is there a certain length of time in which a broadband provider @Plusnet doesn't fix the broadband (that they've admitted has a fault) I'm which they break the terms of the contract, meaning you can switch early without fees? Thanks

@GelertDesign @SimonCoopey Plusnet is owned by BT though. Never had a problem with Sky in the 20 odd years we've been with them. If looking for the fastest broadband, check what the providers are offering and their smallprint, ie up to x speed isn't a guarantee.

@plusnethelp I reported an issue via phone on 04/12/20. It remains unresolved, the ticket remains open, & lines are so busy that the couple of times I've tried calling back, I eventually gave up waiting. I understand the challenges of a Covid world, but 6+ weeks is unacceptable.

@SharonYHaye BT. My son has BT. Twice in two years there's been a problem, each time a real live human answers the phone, takes details and gets the problem sorted. Done.
I'm swapping from Plusnet to BT as soon as my contract's up!
