On Monday, we had to have our elderly cat put down.
Today, Duolingo turned troll, asking me the Italian for 'I have no cat.'

@duolingo Why do I make notes when I learn in an app? Because I remember words and expressions much better when I write them down by hand.
Why two colours for notes? I have a good visual memory, I remember where a particular sentence was on the page. Colours make it even easier. #duolingo

@duolingo I completed all the audio lessons in my French course last week. Yesterday I had to uninstall the app for a technical problem. I’ve now reinstalled it and it shows the lessons as not completed.

@StashKerstin Down side is that duolingo removed tagalog since it didnt make sense financially for them. Good news is I found a site that teaches tagalog for free.

Duolingo sends 3-4 notifications in a day to practice. So I uninstalled the app. That's how we deal with the problem!😎

Anyone have recommendations for Hebrew-learning programs that are free and also not DuoLingo? DL is incredibly antisemetic and it's a huge problem.

When you click the turtle button 🐢 in Duolingo go slow down the speech, you can hear 2000% more snark in their voice.

@mykaysrl i’m learning german btw, but i mix it with a general “learning german book”, do grammar exercises (generally duolingo doesn’t go in depth with grammar btw), watch shows and write down words i don’t understand, listen to podcasts and read children’s books!!

@duolingo On 15/1 an email said I used a streak freeze (I did miss a day) but my streak broke anyway.
I missed 14/1 but practised 15/01.
Then on 22/1 I did several lessons and a streak freeze was used.
I should have a streak from 9/1 with one freeze used. Can you pls fix? User: sashinax

@gsciencelady @juliefowlis Learned it as part of my professional development and tried to keep it up during 1st lockdown on Duolingo, but have let slip. My grandfather was native speaker until he started school in Glasgow - then lost it and family chain was broken ☹️.
